Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider handles the query and supplies its results. Washington County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email and contact submissions may be kept as needed to answer them. They are not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the servers to receive routine technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Washington County Criminal History neither maintains nor sells a collection of personal criminal records. It points to official channels run by the Washington County Sheriff, Oregon courts, Oregon State Police Criminal Justice Information Services, and the Oregon Sex Offender Registry. Government access is controlled by the Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311 through 192.478, agency-specific exemptions, and criminal-history dissemination rules in ORS 181A.220, 181A.230, and 181A.245. Visitor data is not combined with those records or turned into a consumer report. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Visitors should read those terms before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Washington County offices, Oregon court portals, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. That processing is controlled by those providers.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information that is collected. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, however, so the site cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A report that a minor submitted such information will be reviewed so the material can be removed.
